What a day we had today, 3 games away and 3 games at home for our teams today.
Our U12s and U10s had a home kick off at 10am this morning. When I arrived down at 9am as well as coaches and a couple of parents we had 6 players down from the teams that were there to help set up the goals and pitches for our matches this morning. Whatever the results we were going to have I felt we had already won today as a club and as a community.
What followed on the pitch backed up the character I had already seen. We welcomed Balscaddan Boys, Malahide Utd and Rush Athletic today. All 3 of the games were played with good spirit and sportsmanship and we had strong wins for all our home games.
Our U13s were on the road hosted by Cloghertown United, after a slow start the team remembered what was worked on in training and ended up with a strong win.
Our 9s were welcomed by Howth Celtic, some great games were had and we had wins and losses.
Our 8s were welcomed by Swords Manor. It was a tough day for our little warriors but some good lessons were learnt by all involved in the team.
Finally our nursery and academy was back up and running. Our nursery is for 4/5 year olds teaching basic ball skills and having fun. Our academy for 6/7 year olds are coached with preparing for games, focusing on passing, movement and good sportsmanship.
Well done to all involved today and a big thanks to Glenveagh Homes for their sponsorship of the club.
